Last trip post

Sunset over the Simplon Pass. I tried to rent a car locally to take a blast up the pass, but alas, it was not to be – the local town only had a rental car outlet which didn’t actually have any cars, they had to be pre-ordered. Just another reason to go back…..

And here’s some reasons to go back to Paris again. First up is Le Train Bleu in the Gare de Lyon. Superb restaurant, if you think that the restaurant in the Musée d’Orsay is nice, check out this place http://www.le-train-bleu.com. Sadly I didn’t have enough time in Gare de Lyon to experience it. This time…..

Outside the Gare de Lyon.

The Opera

And lastly, the Hotel Russell in London. Stunning building, very nice hotel.

One for Marlen

Seen in Spiez, just outside Interlaken.

Guess where I am now… Answers on a postcard to….

Whirlwind city tour as we had a few hours to kill waiting between trains. Next stop – London.

One for Camel.

And they all had bells around their necks!

Zermatt/Gornergrat

Travelled from Brig to Zermatt today, more stunning scenery, lots of snow and the weather was brilliant – except for the fact that the top of the Matterhorn was obscured by cloud for the whole time that we were up on the Gornergrat.

Zermatt viewed from the Gornergrat railway and a view of the Matterhorn in the distance from Zermatt village:
End of the ski season – no crowds at the lifts today:

Views from the top of the Gornergrat, the first shot is of the Matterhorn, still covered by cloud:

And the highlight of the trip up to the Gornergrat, a “Steinböck”!

Relaxing in Zermatt after our trip up the Gornergrat:

Weiner Schnitzel und Pommes bei Früh

One for Marlen ;o)

Andermatt @ just under 1600 meters.

And now for some much needed pornography….

Ferrari 575 Superamerica. Pure filth. I want one :’(.

Mum and dad taking a few rays.

Sitting on the patio of the Hotel Stern before taking the Glacier Express to Brig.

One for Sinead while she’s out on Loch Derg.
